Millionaire bloggers? Are they even real? Sure, they exist.
They are normal and real people just like you.
However, they do things differently.
They think differently.
Their habits are different.
So, let’s get real for a minute, ok?
You started your blog so that you can make money from it.
Or perhaps, to get more leads and customers for your current business.
But… you’ve probably wondered.
You’re creating and publishing content day in and day out like your life depended on it. Writing, writing and writing, but you’re not getting the results you want:
Real Predictable Income.
You’ve slaved over your content creation process, carefully crafting each blog post structure.
And what happens?
You get a few comments (if any), and perhaps some subscribers…
…but you still don’t have enough income and customers (if any), so that you can finally quit that job, pay the damn bills, get rid of debt, support yourself, your family and perhaps, travel more.
You know, that precious freedom we all look for.
I feel you, deeply. I’m not even joking.
You feel trapped inside a vicious cycle wondering what you’re doing wrong.
This is enough to send a motivated blogger into depression, and wipe out any left inspiration to keep producing more great content.
And that’s not even counting the pressure we feel from our friends and family members who don’t understand how all this blogging world works.
And you can’t help wondering…
Do you just need to be more patient, and wait for your traffic and income to snowball?
After all, content and traffic are kings, right? Think Again.
Or could it be that, really, you are just focusing on building a popular blog instead of a business that brings consistent income you can depend on?
You have learned to believe that fame or popularity means financial success.
And deep down you may feel that no matter how hard you keep working on creating amazing content to reach the promised land, it will never produce half of the results you need.
For some reason, you keep your head down and try to create more awesome content to get more visitors, because that’s what you’re supposed to do, right?
If you work hard enough and never give up, eventually things will shift, one of your posts will be a hit and you will start to feel like you’ve moved beyond survival mode.
But the truth is that working hard, creating valuable content and getting more traffic aren’t the only things that must be in place when it comes to building a profitable blog.
What actually matters more is found in the core foundational elements that turn blogs with no income into highly profitable ones.
This post will focus on some of the things that happened since January 1st, 2012 (when I started my first blog) and the 17 key elements I discovered…
And after seven years, it’s time to share how it all clicked.
Buckle up, this is not a short post.
17 Things Millionaire Bloggers Do To Build Million Dollar Brands
1 – Millionaire Bloggers Understand the Power of Invisible Leverage
In January 1st, 2012…
When I started my first blog, I only had $3.50 in my bank account, and my only purpose was to make enough money to get out of the deep pile of student loan debt I got myself into.
I was sleeping on an airbed and after it imploded I had to upgrade to sleeping on my best friend’s couch.
It wasn’t pretty, but I was thankful to have had a roof over my head. After 90 days, my blogging efforts generated $36,825.00 as an affiliate of a premium affiliate opportunity (not your typical affiliate program).
I started traveling all over Europe for another 90 days and living a life most people think is the “dream life.”
But that couldn’t be further from the truth. I felt empty and purposeless.
Something didn’t feel right. Something was off and it was truly disturbing.
I started questioning myself and my purpose for doing what I was doing…
My inspiration vanished and with it, my desire to keep working.
Millionaire bloggers have a purpose, a vision, and a mission bigger than themselves and stronger than their own selfish reasons for doing what they do.
They need and seek to create a strong foundation, first.
If you want your blog to be highly successful and profitable for years to come…
- You will need a goal that challenges you
- A purpose that passionates you
- A clear strategy that serves you and others
- A creation process that makes you feel happy
- A business model aligned with your desired lifestyle
- A clean consciousness and peaceful heart
If you don’t have any of that, you will quit when the first real challenge comes your way, and if you don’t quit, you will most likely feel miserable for as long as you keep up with your own insanity.
Millionaire Bloggers start every single project with what I call, Invisible Leverage, which answers 3 simple questions: Why, How, and What.
If we can figure out why we do what we do, everything else (how, what) becomes simpler.
But, here is the kicker…
The ‘why’ I’m talking about is NOT your personal why.
I’m talking about a purpose bigger than yourself. This purpose, mission, vision, BIG WHY… includes your audience and market.
WHAT you are really selling isn’t your actual product. The real product is a positive change! HOW you will sell it is the strategy.
I’m going to share an example with you.
The purpose of this exercise is to identify the reason you exist as a blogger and the reason your business exists = Big Why.
Keep in mind, the answers to these 3 questions could change over time, because your priorities and direction may change.
Do yourself a favor and answer those 3 questions as honest as possible.
What I shared with you is my own real example. Feel free to be as detailed as possible. Do not move forward until you get it done.
This is your foundation. If your business is on top of a foundation full of crap, what do you think will happen?
It will sink and you will get dirty and smelling like crap. People can smell the bullshit from miles away. Create your foundation, first.
You will be glad you did.
2 – Millionaire Bloggers Leverage the Success Ladder
After I stopped producing as an affiliate, I became obsessed with studying millionaire bloggers and companies that leveraged blogging as their main engine for generating revenue and profits.
- How could a blogging company generate over $100 million per year?
- What made it so special and highly profitable?
This is when I discovered one of the secrets that opened my eyes to a new world of unlimited possibilities.
In order to understand how million dollar blogs are built, you need to understand what a success ladder is. You need to stop thinking and acting like a typical blogger and start thinking and acting like an entrepreneur.
And you need to start creating a success ladder for your own business.
So, what is a Success Ladder anyway?
This process is the journey that will help you engineer the outcome you desire by meeting your audience’s needs at different and higher levels of service.
What would happen if you skip this process?
Well, let’s continue to find out.
The process is based on the value in the form of education, inspiration, and ascension.
To give you a good idea, the following image represents the success ladder of a different brand (Blog Launch Insider) I used to own…
Our success ladder had different products and services supported by multiple systems that helped our audience ascend through processes that meet additional needs.
The higher you go on the ladder, the higher the price of your products/services and the higher the value delivered before asking for the sale.
Let me explain that success ladder…
- Step 1: You see “Free Video,” which is a lead magnet offer. However, we don’t rely on one single lead magnet and neither should you.
The more lead magnets you can offer, the more segments of your market you can reach. Also, a video is just one format type of lead magnet.
All of your bribes or lead magnet offers should be designed to help your prospects enter your success ladder ascension.
- Step 2: You see “Tripwire” and “BLI Mastermind” offers. It represents a low-cost, low-barrier, front-end product that leads to an offer to become part of our continuity program (aka monthly subscription).
- Step 3: You see our flagship program (high ticket), which is presented with a different value driven funnel.
- Step 4: You will see an invite to an exclusive live event and we implement a different type of funnel here as well.
Changing the environment from online to “in-person” is proven to build a stronger connection with your customers. It also allows you to break barriers that inspire your customers to join your highest level of service.
- Step 5: This is our highest level of service at the moment, which is a one-on-one (done-for-you) program.
You want to keep in mind that about 2% of your customers will ascend to the top of your ladder, and that is completely fine.
These people are your perfect customers. The ones you truly want to work with more closely. Your success ladder is always a work in progress and it can go as high as you want.
So, do not expect to have it all built-up the way you want, right from the moment you launch your blog. It will take some time.
“What if I don’t have a success ladder?”
I understand that oftentimes it is hard for blog owners to figure out how to add more offers to their Success Ladder.
Typically, the process is very easy for someone selling information products because that ascension path has already been created and proven in thousands of info-based companies.
What if you’re selling something else?
What if you offer physical products, e-commerce, B2B services or professional services where the path isn’t quite as clear?
Sometimes it takes a little more of strategic thinking and creativity.
If you already have a product or a service that you sell in the middle of your ladder…
What type of “hook” could you create to attract your perfect customer?
Oftentimes, blog owners have a front-end product but nothing more to sell on the back-end.
For that, I love to look at what else you could bundle together:
- Could you offer a coaching program?
- How about a live event or workshop?
- What other result or value could you give your clients?
While it’s not always obvious what you can add to the front-end or the backend of your blog’s ladder, I promise the solutions are there.
If you want to succeed and be profitable, you need to have this Success Ladder in place.
3 – Millionaire Bloggers Have Clarity on What their Business Model is
The main common denominators of millionaire bloggers:
- They create and sell their own courses
- They have a recurring revenue component
- They leverage affiliate marketing strategies
Why do you think they focus on these monetization methods out of hundreds of other online monetization options?
Simple: Credibility, stability, and profitability. It is the fastest and smartest way to get to 6 and 7 figures with your blog.
4 – Millionaire Bloggers Focus on a Strategic Approach When Sharing their Message
Real marketing happens when people enter into your blog funnel. That is where conditioning comes into effect.
There are different ways to engineer that. One of the most popular ways to do it is by using the Sideways Sales Letter, which was invented by Jeff Walker, the creator of the Product Launch Formula.
I’ve used it not only to launch a course or service but also to launch blogs. It is a great way (but not the only way) to jump-start your blog’s success.
In a nutshell, Jeff took the old traditional long-form sales letter (a long written sales page) and divided it into a 3-part video series (the pre-launch process) with a 4th video (sales video – open cart day).
He spread it through 7-10 days. Here’s an example of ours:
Then, he leaves the cart open for 5-10 days and then he closes it down.
When you give massive value upfront in a very strategic manner, good things happen. By the time your prospects land on the sales page, they are already sold and ready to buy.
Typical bloggers give value, but without a strategy. Millionaire bloggers give massive value upfront with a very clear and intentional strategy.
5 – Millionaire Bloggers Focus on a Niche Market and Expand their Reach Later
They never try to cover their entire market from the get-go.
Millionaire bloggers pick a market they want to serve and build wealth from. After they do that, they pick one segment of their market and focus on it until they have dominated it.
With their blogging efforts, they focus on 1-3 main topics at the beginning and shape their market segment perception to understand that they are the go-to guys for XYZ topics, problems and solutions.
They target the gaps within their market segment, first, and then, create solutions (products and services) for the top 3 problems their market segment is eager to resolve.
A good friend and multi-million dollar blogger once told me:[click_to_tweet tweet=”Marketing to everybody is marketing to nobody.” quote=”Marketing to everybody is marketing to nobody.”]
Most bloggers focus solely on topics and forget about the market segment and the main problems their audience is facing.
Although, your blog may represent a lot of who you are, what you stand for, etc…
The truth is, it is not just about you. It is very hard to build a successful, respected and highly profitable blog when it is only a “look at me, me, me” blog.
At my previous blog (Blog Launch Insider), I decided to focus on Advanced WordPress Bloggers, first.
As you can see on the image above, we focused on the topics in red.
When we have established our position and authority in the market, we could expand to other market segments, such as, bloggers who just got started and people who want to get started.
If you try to cover your entire market from the start, you will have a very difficult time building a blog and business that brings in the profits.
6 – Millionaire Bloggers Leverage One Click Upsells to Increase Profitability
This is the holy grail of highly profitable blogs and businesses.
The more profitable they are, the more they can invest in paid advertising, allowing to dominate their competitors.
The topic of 1-click upsells can be an entire blog post just by itself. In fact, it can be an actual product. However, I will condense the importance of having upsells as part of your selling process.
Let’s start by defining what an upsell is…
Upselling (which is a verb): This is basically, offering more products (and/or services) to your customers to meet additional needs.
If you are NOT giving your customers an opportunity to purchase again and again… you’re leaving money on the table.
Plain and Simple.
However, I feel this is a very “personal” choice, and not every successful business does it.
I can tell you of a handful of millionaire bloggers that have never offered an upsell, and they still do pretty well.
They’re simply playing a different game.
If I’m selling a video course, do you think my customers would be interested in a complete written transcript of all videos?
How about an audio version of it, so that they can listen to it on the go? How about worksheets to help them work through the course and the action steps they must take?
By adding a single (relevant) upsell offer, you will increase your bottom line exponentially.
Upsells are how you make customers more valuable, and it is where you make your profits (please, don’t confuse income and revenue with profits.)
One of the main reasons I was able to generate $36,825 in my first 90 days of starting my first blog is because I leveraged an upselling process that was already in place for me as an affiliate back in 2012.
I did not know exactly what I was doing as I was a complete beginner, but just having that upselling process in place, working my ass off to get traffic into the funnel and let it do its thing, changed my life around at that moment in time.
And it is one of the main reasons why that blogging company was generating over $100 Million per year.
Upselling can be a complicated process (from a technical standpoint), but a tool like SamCart makes it extremely easy – see for yourself in this video tutorial.
And this is coming from a non-techie person like myself.
Well, to be honest, I have developed some technical skills since I got started.
The bottom line is…
If you’re not asking people to buy more stuff, they are not going to buy more stuff.
“What Am I Missing Out On By Not Offering More Products?”
What are YOU missing out on by not offering more products to your customers?
Seriously… Look at your current stream of revenue. Look at what you’re currently bringing in per customer.
Sometimes, I hear other bloggers say…
- “I only have one product…”
- “I don’t have a product…”
- “How can I possibly make more?”
- “How can I possibly offer my customers something else?”
Well, you absolutely can.
7 – They Focus on Product Line Expansion
Just like upsells, expanding your product line has two purposes:
- More Profits
- Increasing Lifetime Customer Value (LCV)
Brands such as Apple, McDonald’s, and Amazon, do this very well by offering more products.
So, why shouldn’t you?
Because what good is a blog, business, and funnel, if we don’t have other products or services to offer to our customers that meet additional needs?
Here’s a question for you…
If your front-end product sells for $47 and it costs you $47 to get one customer to buy, then, you’re even, right?
So, the cost to present each new customer with additional products or services is… ZERO.
Because everything you make after the initial sale is 100% profit. That’s why upsells are so very important within your funnel.
7 Upsell Examples…
So, what I’m going to do is walk you through a few upsell examples that will help you increase your lifetime customer value.
The idea in here is for you to come up with your first upsell…
Number One: Premium Support
For this one, I will be using LeadPages as an example…
If you notice the area surrounded by red, you will see that they offer a different level of support depending on the package you choose.
- Email support for Standard
- Email + Live Chat support for Pro
- Email + Live Chat + Phone support for Advanced
The higher the package you purchase, the more customer support options you will have available. Now, LeadPages doesn’t offer one-click upsells.
What they do is called, A Point-Of-Sale Upsell.
There are other ways you could position Premium Support. You could offer it as a one-click upsell after they buy your initial product or service.
Number Two: A Different Format
If you’re selling a PDF Report, you could…
- Offer the video format of the PDF
- Offer downloadable audio MP3
If you’re selling a video course, you could…
- Offer PDF transcripts
- Offer mobile version
- Offer MP3 audio
- Offer physical version
Now, you could charge whatever you want for the physical version, but if you’re going to ship it out, you will have to charge a little more, because there will be more cost involved making a physical version and then, shipping it.
Number Three: Discounts
Do you have other products? If you do, you could offer it at a discount for “New Customers” Only.
So, in the form of a 1-click upsell after they purchase your initial product, you can say something like…
“Thanks for your order! Before you continue to the members area, I want to offer you XYZ at 1/2 off. This offer is for new customers (like you) only and you will never see this offer again.”
And then, you just lead right into the upsell script, letting them know…
- Here’s what it is all about
- Here’s what it will do for you (benefits)
- Here’s what I want you to do next (call-to-action)
Number Four: A Bundle Deal
In the image above you can see two offers presented:
- On the left – A library of 50 PDF’s for $97
- On the right – The audio recording version of the PDFs + the actual PDFs for $137 (bundle deal)
You can be sure that a lot of people will go for the bundle deal.
Number Five: A Monthly Subscription
As you can see in the image above, this upsell offer is a 30-day free membership (trial).
If you have a membership site in where you charge members with a monthly fee, you could offer it as an upsell, but positioned as a free trial in order to lower the barrier of entry.
After the 30-day trial is over, those who remain active will be charged $19.95 per month.
Number Six: A Future Product
I know of a company that sells “Done For You” digital product bundles twice per year, that you can resell. They usually “pre-sell” the next version of the product at 50% off.
And they do this immediately after someone buys the product, and the psychology behind that is commitment and consistency.
They once published their conversion rate and claimed the offer converted at 70%.
So, 70% of the people who bought the initial product also bought (aka pre-ordered) the future version of that product.
And that, my friend, is pretty darn cool.
If somebody just said yes to something (which is, they purchased the product), for them to say no, kinda goes against what they just said YES to.
That’s why I believe this offer converted so high.
So that’s another thing that you can try in your business IF this type of upselling fits your type of offerings.
Number Seven: Personal Services
When it comes to personal services, you can do one of the 3 Cs:
Anything that involves you directly interacting with the customer or client, always adds more value, and you can usually charge a premium for services like this.
Look at your product or service, and see what you can come up with in terms of upsells.
There’s a strong chance you can add significantly to both, the perceived and the actual value of your offering without a lot of extra effort and/or cost.
8 – They Understand Their Audience at an Emotional Level
Millionaire bloggers understand the power of emotion and it’s a crucial role within the positioning and selling process.
On the other hand, most bloggers are terrified of the word, “selling” for whatever reason, but that can’t be you if you want to build a highly profitable blog and business online.
For selling to be easy and non-pushy, you must master the art of connecting with your audience at an emotional level.
Selling is a TRANSFERENCE of feelings. In fact, people buy feelings, emotions.
People actually buy feelings! Read that again.
Do you know what is the Single Biggest Buying Emotion (SBBE) in the entire world?
It is the perception of positive change. If you can plant the seed of positive expectancy in the minds of your potential buyers, you will win.
If you can make them feel hope and that they can create positive change in their lives, business, finances, health, etc… they will buy from you.
Remember that the product you think you are selling (ex. weight loss pills) isn’t what you should be selling.
What you want to sell is a positive change and the solution to their problems.
Your prospects need to feel and visualize the real possibility of positive change in their near future in order to buy from you.
But here is the kicker…
People buy in response to YOUR feelings. People buy by bonding with you.
That is called, “SHARED feelings.”
This is why investing time and effort into getting to know your audience is extremely important – you can educate and help your audience, but also, connect with them emotionally.
Let me share something personal with you as an example:
If I didn’t have the experience in life in which I only had $3.50 to my name, no food, sleeping on a friend’s couch, drowned in debt and emotionally broken… I wouldn’t be able to be as authoritative as I am today.
It is because I’ve experienced the painful emotions of defeat and failure that I can truly understand my people…
I know how the struggle FEELS, but most importantly, I know what it takes to get out of it and rise above to change everything around!
It is raw emotion and energy.
That emotion full of passion and real-life experiences transmits conviction, authority, and power.
It is contagious! Millionaire bloggers aren’t afraid to share their emotions and the human side.
When they do, they do it with a very specific purpose and with strategic thinking.
9 – They Trust Their Ability to Make Things Happen, Even If They Don’t Know How
For a long time, I sympathized with the idea that taking small steps was the way to go to create success.
It makes sense for a lot of people.
However, that can be a dangerous thought.
This is the reason I strategically plan the launch of my blogs to create results from day one.[click_to_tweet tweet=”The problem with wanting to get better at something little by little is that it keeps you thinking small.” quote=”The problem with wanting to get better at something little by little is that it keeps you thinking small.”]
Here is what I mean:
As typical bloggers do… without realizing it, I was training myself to believe that it takes a long time to create some sort of profitable results.
Because of it, I created strategies that were designed to take a long time to create the results I wanted.
I call it, “Strategic Procrastination.”
I’m not suggesting that having a long-term strategy and vision is a bad thing.
It is essential to build a sustainable business!
However, I believe you can have both, a short and long term strategy.
Here is an example of an experiment I did in March of 2015:[click_to_tweet tweet=”One of your powers as a blogger (and entrepreneur) resides in the fact that you can actually challenge the status quo and all preconceived notions within an entire industry.” quote=”One of your powers as a blogger (and entrepreneur) resides in the fact that you can actually challenge the status quo and all preconceived notions within an entire industry.”]
In the blogging industry, there is a preconceived collective mindset that it takes at least a year (or longer) to be able to make some money from your blog.
So, I decided to challenge that so-called truth.
Back in 2012, when I launched my first blog… I went from having only $3.50 in my bank account to generating $36,825 in my first 90 days.
That means, I already proved to myself that the pre-conceived notion of “it takes a long time to make money from your blog” was not entirely true.
However, most bloggers accept it as absolute truth.
So back then, when I made Blog Launch Insider visible on March 16, 2015, with a single blog post, I wanted to challenge that collective mindset on purpose.
$7,081.20 in revenue and over 600 subscribers in the first 2 weeks.
The amount of time it will take you to monetize your blog and get positive results from it will depend on your strategy and focus.
That is your power.
10 – They Know That “Price” Is Not The Main Buying-Decision Factor
Fewer than 10% of the people in ANY population use ‘price’ as one of the top 3 determining factors in buying decisions.
Can you really grasp what that means?
You see, most bloggers who sell their own products or services, price it too low, thinking that most people won’t buy if their prices are too high.
90% of bloggers sell as if 90% of their prospects buy based on price.
If that is you, what do you think will happen?
If you have that same mindset, your prospects will FEEL the same way!
Remember, the emotional trigger?
Selling is a transference of emotion, feelings.
They buy in response to YOUR feelings.
That’s why it is important to take your new traffic and subscribers through a filtering and pre-framing process (what happens before the sale).[click_to_tweet tweet=”You don’t get what you want, you get WHO YOU ARE. ” quote=” You don’t get what you want, you get WHO YOU ARE.”]
For example, if you are a person who doesn’t invest in your future, nor in your blog or business – that energy will be transferred to your audience and they will not invest in themselves!
You won’t have to say it out loud. People will feel it. They will know.
11 – They Build Systems
If you don’t have systems in place, you have absolutely no chance of building a profitable business.
If you don’t have a system for filtering, pre-framing, and selling, you’re at the mercy of the prospect’s system:
Listen, you must have to have a system for everything you want to sell or promote.
Millionaire bloggers have more than one.
Typical bloggers don’t have one.
The cool thing about a system (a strategic funnel) is that once you set it up and optimize it (I’ll teach you how to do this), it’s going to get you predictable results over and over and over again.
The system is basically a process designed to increase the lifetime customer value and boost profits on complete autopilot.
If you don’t have a system, you will always be a slave of your blog and business.
12 – They Invest Time and Money into Getting Access to Insider “Secrets”
I had a good idea of the level of profitability and success I wanted to take my previous Blog Launch Insider brand.
But I still needed direction and a clear strategy for accomplishing my bold goal of launching a blog and flagship product at the same time, successfully.
So I went all out and on May 7th, 2015 I joined an exclusive mastermind hosted by Brian Moran, founder of SamCart.
I believe I paid between $1,500 – $2,000 to be with Brian and his team for a couple of days.
I was able to sit down with Brian and his brother, Scott and not only I was able to create the entire launch strategy and funnel, but I also discovered the real secrets of building a multi-million dollar brand.
I wanted to be close to the action.
- So I got to studying.
- I watched every version of Brian’s Product Launches, new and old.
- I printed every past email sequence.
- I took endless notes at our small group mastermind.
- I ask every single member as many questions as I could think of.
The point is, I was willing to learn from everything and everyone for those couple of days.
If there was one tip that was going to help my blog and course launch, I had to know it. I was there to learn everything I could.
I would dedicate the next few months of my life to preparing, creating products, scripting, tweaking, writing, networking, and testing.
I completely disconnected myself from social media, including Facebook, which was a huge distraction. People didn’t hear from me for over eight months.
Some even thought I was dead. That’s a story for another time.
By the time my product was ready, I was ready to make an impact.
The point is, no matter your level of success, knowledge, and skill… there will always be people who are more successful, more knowledgeable and skilled than you.
Surround yourself by those people and learn everything you can from them – no matter the cost. It will save you tons of time, pain and money.
13 – They Create Smart, Strategic and Intentional Content
Millionaire Bloggers create content with a few specific purposes:
- Pre-framing and filtering (identifying action takers)
- Acquiring highly qualified leads (potential buyers)
- Taking those leads through smart sales funnels
- Building goodwill
Every single piece of content, whether it is a blog post, a video, a page, etc… has an intentional strategic purpose. They never create content just for the sake of delivering value.
They deliver value with an end result in mind: getting more customers.
Most bloggers only create content to build their list with the hopes that one day they will be able to monetize that list of prospects.
But that’s “hope marketing,” and you can’t build a real profitable business hoping for “one day.”
14 – They Host Secret Masterminds
Instead of becoming part of a mastermind, this time you create one.
Millionaire Bloggers create their own exclusive mastermind for a selective group of committed individuals.
This is not the kind of mastermind that 99% of your audience can join for a small monthly fee. This is for the top 1% of your audience.
The admission should not be free, cheap and easy to join. It is one of the most powerful experiences you can deliver and witness.
It is like having your own superhero squad and each one of the members has different super-powers and one purpose:[click_to_tweet tweet=”Make a contribution to make the world we live in, a better place. ” quote=”Make a contribution to make the world we live in, a better place. “]
15 – They Offer Multiple Payment Options (Strategically)
One way they increase their sales conversions is by offering multiple payment plans, especially for their high ticket products.
Let’s assume your product’s price is $1,997.
In this case, you could offer the following payment plans:
- 12 payments of $197
- 6 payments of $397
Adding a payment plan will increase your sales – no doubt about it.
Now, there is something very important you want to keep in mind.
You want to make sure that a big percentage of your customers make a full payment, instead of a monthly payment plan.
To do this, you can incentivize the full payment option.
You could offer a limited bonus for those who make a full payment. That “limited bonus” could be your 1-on-1 time positioned as a coaching package.
Perhaps, it could be an actual service valued at least 3 times higher than the actual price of your product. Make sure you offer something that has a high perceived value for your prospects.
16 – They Position Their Product at the High End of the Market
I remember asking Marie Forleo a few years ago:
“When you are just getting started, should you create and sell a low cost product or a high ticket product?”
“You need to go for the high end of your market. The price of your product should be the highest in your market or at the same level than the highest priced product of your competition.”
Then, she said…
“You know what’s interesting? It takes the same amount of effort to promote, market and sell a low cost $100 product as it is a $10,000 product. The exact same effort. Start by positioning at the highest end of your market.”
You see, most bloggers start by creating an ebook to sell it for $20-$40, or even lower. That is a sure way to go into an INSTANT struggle unless you already have a huge engaged audience ready to back you up by buying your upsell offers.
Imagine how many copies of your ebook you will need to sell to generate $10,000 per month.
Let’s do the math for the $20 ebook:
- $10,000 / $20 = 500 copies.
Let’s do the math for a $1,000 course:
- $10,000 / $1,000 = 10 copies.
Based on my experience, it is easier to acquire 10 customers at $1,000 each than trying to acquire 500 customers at $20 each.
17 – They Leverage the Splintering Method
Millionaire Bloggers leverage the splintering method across their entire business.
In other words, they re-purpose (recycle) their existing content and products to create more content and products, faster.
One of the main reasons I always recommend bloggers to start by creating and selling a complete program that resolves a specific problem is because it will make everything else a lot simpler.
We can splinter that course…
So, if your program has 8 modules with several videos in each module… you’ll basically, take one module and turn it into a stand-alone product.
Of course, you can do that with all modules if you’d like.
See how the Smart Blog Funnel course is structured and you’ll get a good idea.
Now, we have 9 products to meet different needs, but we don’t stop there…
You can splinter each of those stand-alone products to create highly valuable lead magnet offers to build your email list faster.
Then, you can splinter each lead magnet to create relevant blog posts.
This process will allow you to reach a wider market by meeting different needs and then you lead new subscribers through funnels that will expose offers relevant to their own current interest, need and desire.
It is very powerful and effective, which is one of the main reasons why I show you how to implement this method inside The Smart Blog Funnel program (100% free).
Over the years, I have come to value self-awareness, honesty, and simplicity more than I did in the past.
It is all about being completely honest with yourself, and about the changes that take place throughout our journey.
Changes that happen externally, but most importantly, within yourself.
Your blogging style and strategy may require a different approach based on YOUR OWN vision and values.
This list of 17 things I’ve learned millionaire bloggers do, is just one approach that may or may not be for you.
Make sure your blog business model is aligned with the lifestyle you want to create and experience.[click_to_tweet tweet=”Make sure your blog business model is aligned with the lifestyle you want to create and experience. You do not want to become a prisoner of your business.” quote=”Make sure your blog business model is aligned with the lifestyle you want to create and experience. You do not want to become a prisoner of your business.”]
You see, back in 2012, my business model was centered around affiliate marketing.
Later on, I added courses, services, coaching, etc.
Today, we are back to our roots with Scalable Idea.
We are focused on our affiliate marketing business model.
We teach EVERYTHING we know.
We create premium courses, but we don’t sell them.
We give them away for free.[click_to_tweet tweet=”We teach EVERYTHING we know. We create premium courses, but we don’t sell them. We give them away for free. There is a GOOD reason for that.” quote=”We teach EVERYTHING we know. We create premium courses, but we don’t sell them. We give them away for free. There is a GOOD reason for that.”]
The journey will give you opportunities (through failure and successes) to learn more about yourself, what you truly value the most and the direction you truly want to take. Just be open, to being honest with yourself.
You’ve got the ultimate GPS inside of you.
Believe in yourself.
Stay true to yourself.
